In 1973 the design was completed and the plant was put into operation in 1977. The Allenstown Wastewater Treatment Facility is now over 30 years old and has significantly exceeded its 20-year life expectancy. The facility, which operates 24/7, 365 days a year, has equipment that is inefficient and obsolete through normal wear and tear and advances in technology. Our mission is to provide quality services while maintaining all requirements of Federal and State regulations.
Many improvements and upgrades have been completed at the facility such as the upgrade using the BioMag technology, addition of three new screw press machines, improvements to the existing aeration tanks, and new pumps/equipment for process control.
Our facility provides services for the collection and treatment of wastewater for Allenstown and Pembroke. The facility also receives wastewater from all over New Hampshire from Septic Haulers.
The plant is overseen by 3 Sewer Commissioners, James A. Rodger as Chairman, Jeffrey R. McNamara, Commissioner and Charles F. Martel, Commissioner. The daily operations are administered by Dana Clement, Superintendent.
